Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born July 12, 1988[1], is a Canadian actress/singer. O'Neil was the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's 3rd season won it in 2005. O'Neil is primarily known as an actress because of her performances on Syfy as Two / Rebeccaas Two / Rebecca / Portia Lin and on ABC as Officer Lucy Chen in the ABC procedural drama The Rookie. She was chosen to be in the bottom three and two contestants were eliminated. In shock, the judges advised viewers to vote for contestants similar to Melissa who clearly had the best vocal abilities. From then on, O'Neil never fell back to the bottom of the list after delivering consistently praised performances, with the judge Zack Werner declaring that she was "a potential winner of the entire contest". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie, made it into the finals on September 7th the 7th of September, 2005. Werner, a judge famously stated that the headlines of the following day's news will be "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead. Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the final results ceremony on September 14 on the 14th of September, 2005. She was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
