Catherine Ford is a British actress, born in Bloomsbury. After her father's divorce from her household, the actress was brought to maturity by her mother, godparents, and grandmother. She suffered from an anxiety disorder that was rooted in word associations as a young teenager. Ford began to become interested in acting during her teenage years and joined the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just one month, she decided that it wasn't for her. Ford later applied to be a student in the Central School of Speech and Drama and was accepted on her 4th attempt. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford graduated in 1993. But, before then, Ford made a television debut, appearing in Surgical Spirit in an episode that aired in the year 1991. Ford took the professional title of Catherine Tate. Tate first appeared on television in 1991and appeared in shows such as The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. as well as London's Burning. She worked on stage regularly and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company's 2000-2001 season. Tate's stand-up comedy that she started adding to her set in 1996, soon gained the attention of her peers.
